John Ball
Assistant Head for Academic Affairs
John graduated from St. John’s College with a B.A. in liberal arts, and earned his M.A. in teaching from Columbia University. He comes to Emma Willard from Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin, Missouri, where he was head of school. Prior to that, John was also head of the upper school at Germantown Academy, head of the science department at The Webb Schools and Sewickley Academy, and taught science at the Tower Hill School and Westtown Friends School. John and his wife, Katie Ammirati, live on campus.
