EWS Mourns Passing of Board Chair

he Emma Willard School community mourns the passing of Mariana Stroock Leighton, Chair of the Board of Trustees and devoted member of the Class of 1955. We have lost a dear friend as well as a superb educator and a strong, compassionate, and dedicated leader. Mariana believed deeply in Emma Willard’s mission and worked tirelessly to sustain and enhance her school’s excellence. Her warmth, wisdom, and calm, steady guidance will be missed greatly. Our hearts and prayers are with her husband, Larry, their daughters, Sandy and Michelle, and their grandchildren.
