Thank you for your interest in Emma Willard School. We are delighted that you have chosen to explore Emma and hope that you will decide to visit our beautiful and historic campus in Troy, NY. Located a short three hour drive from both New York and Boston and within easy access of Albany International Airport and Amtrak, the school proudly sits atop Mount Ida and in the heart of the Capital District of Albany and was the backdrop for movies such as Scent of a Woman and The Emperor’s Club.
As the oldest non –denominational all-girls’ school in the United States, we bring together 320 intelligent and motivated young women from 21 states and 29 countries. An amazing 54 percent of our students receive financial aid and 18 percent are students of color. A school steeped in tradition, such as Revels and Ring Week, yet on the forefront of education for girls, Emma strives to be a place where girls can make an impact. With the school’s Bicentennial celebration on the horizon in 2014, it is indeed an exciting place to be a student!
