Emma Garners Silver and Bronze at Adirondack Sprints

The Emma Willard Crew team arrived at the Adirondack Sprints held this past Saturday on the campus of RPI in Troy, NY, ready to prove they will be a force to be reckoned with this spring. They did not disappoint!

Rowing in the junior women's event, clearly the largest and most competitive event of the day, Emma nearly swept the medals, winning a silver and bronze. Caroline B, with only six weeks of rowing experience under her belt, blazed to a personal best of 7:53.3 in capturing the silver medal. Alex G, again rowing a personal best, surged ahead of most of her competitors to win the bronze. Junior Marisa B captured fourth place again, rowing a personal best over the grueling 2,000 meter distance.

Eleven of Emma's finest travel to Boston on February 24 to compete in the World Indoor Rowing Championships (CRASH-Bs), hoping to improve on last week's impressive results.

Jesters Compete at World Indoor Rowing Championships

Ten members of the Emma Willard Girl's Crew Team traveled to Agganis Arena on the campus of Boston University, Sunday, February 24, to compete in the World Indoor Rowing Championships (CRASH-Bs).

Led by junior Caroline B, the Jesters held their own in the spacious but raucous surroundings. In a field of 200 junior women (18 years and younger), the Emma girls posted impressive results rowing side by side against the world's best rowers.

Emma's stellar results from both the CRASH-Bs and the Adirondack Sprints, held February 16, bode well for an exciting on-water season. The Jesters open their spring campaign on Saturday, April 12, hosting the 3rd Annual Emma Willard Invitational.
