(Game)
Loss
- 2-3
Emma Willard hosted Schuylerville in the first round of the SectionTwo play-offs. The Jesters opened the scoring early in the first half, netting a goal against the flow of play, which had been largely dominated by a talented and aggressively physical Schuyerville side. The goal was set up by freshman striker Emma whose cross from the right side of the penalty area found Bri in front. Bri stuck a beautiful one-time shot past the helpless Schuylerville keeper to give Emma the 1-0 lead. Schuylerville continued to apply pressure against the Emma Willard defense, which yielded two goals, including the go-ahead score just before half-time. About mid-way through the second half Schuylerville extended their lead to 3-1. Emma Willard continued to put up a hard fought and resilient effort, securing a second goal on a beautiful free-kick by Emma in the game 77th minute. In defeat, the stand-out star of the game for the Jesters was sophomore goal keeper Meaghan Sausville, who recorded 17 saves.

Varsity Soccer vs. New Lebanon
(Game)
Win
- 3-2
On a cold and blustery afternoon, visiting New Lebanon jumped out to a 1-0 lead, when midfielder Eva launched a long, looping shot from deep on the right flank. The shot, catching Emma Willard keeper Meaghen S. by surprise, looped up over her hands and into the back corner of the goal. Emma Willard notched the equalizer in the twenty-first minute, when midfielder Elizabeth found forward Emma on a fine cross. Emma trapped the pass at the top of the 18 yard box and immediately hit a hard, rising shot past the New Lebanon keeper and into the top center of the goal. Not backing down, New Lebanon pushed right back down the field, putting pressure on the Emma Willard defense. A failed clearance and missed communication in the Jesters' final third set up a cheap opportunity in front, and the New Lebanon striker made the most of the opportunity, putting her team up 2-1. After New Lebanon's second goal, Emma Willard really began to dominate possession. Despite being down 2-1, momentum was clearly in the Jesters' favor. In the 28th minute, striker Talia scored a beautiful goal after slipping past the defense on the left side. Talia in a hard low strike by the goalie and across the mouth of the goal; the shoot kicked off the opposite posed and glanced into the back of the net, tying the game at two. Five minutes before the half, Elizabeth again set up Emma in front and with Emma's well struck ball past a sprawling New Lebanon keeper, the Jesters went into halftime with a 3-2 lead. A well played second half resulted in no more scoring and Emma Willard finished the day with its fourth straight victory and its twelfth win overall.

The first goal came in the 51st minute, when right midfielder Bri made a strong run with the ball down the right side line, before cutting back near the top of the 18 and playing a beautiful cross to Nicki. Nicki settled the pass and struck the ball into the upper left hand corner to put the Jesters on the scoreboard. Elizabeth netted the second goal about ten minutes later, and a line-up composed of non-starters closed down the game with an especially impressive last 25 minutes of play. On the day, the Jesters yielded just a single shot on goal, which was dutifully handled by goalkeeper Meaghen.

Varsity Soccer vs. Berlin
(Game)
Win
- 1-0
On a sunny and warm Friday afternoon, the Central Hudson Valley League's two strongest teams, Berlin and Emma Willard, met for the second time this season. Berlin arrived at Emma hoping to even the season score, after losing to the Jesters at home in a close 2-1 game earlier in the year. The first half saw back and forth play by both teams. Emma Willard created a number of excellent scoring chances but was unable to finish. On the defensive end, the back line of Julia, Ximena, Marta, and Caroline contained a potent Berlin attack, minimizing scoring chances and helping goal keeper Meaghen maintain a blank sheet. In the 38th minute, Emma Willard's persistent attacking pressure down the left wing resulted in a foul just outside the box, about 25 yards from goal. Freshman midfielder Elizabeth stepped quickly to the ball and struck a shot on goal, as the Berlin defense attempted to organize itself for the free kick. Elizabeth's shot, which went just wide of the left post, was immediately waved off by the referee, since the ball was still rolling at the moment it was struck. Berlin took the opportunity to better organize its defense, setting up a four player wall in front of the ball. Senior captain and central midfielder Natalie stepped up to take the kick and took every advantage of the team's second chance: hitting a beautiful shot up over the wall and in-between the crossbar and the outstretched hands of the Berlin keeper. The single goal was enough on this day, as the Emma defense continued to frustrate every offensive effort made by the Berlin side through the remaining 42 minutes of play. Meaghen finished the game with 8 saves in goal. And the win moved the Jesters to 8-2-1 on the year, 8-0-1 in the Central Hudson Valley League.

Varsity Soccer vs. Loudonville
(Game)
Tie
- 2-2 (OT)
The visiting Loudonville-Christian Eagles opened the scoring in this rematch after a defensive miscommunication allowed the ball to roll across an open net and onto to the foot of an opportunistic Loudonville striker. The Jesters reacted to the goal, as well as to Loudonville's aggressive, physical play, with poise, returning to their strengths: quick efficient passing through the middle field and long penetrating runs down the flanks. Both right midfielder Elizabeth and striker Talia made excellent runs down the flanks during the first half, launching dangerous crosses into the Loudonville box. This pressure ultimately resulted in the tying score, when Elizabeth found freshman striker Emma in front of the goal and Emma was able to find the back of the net. The game remained knotted at one through the end of the first half. In the second half, the two teams played a back and forth contest, with numerous chances on both ends. Loudonville again took the lead. But Emma Willard clawed back with a second score. This time Emma found senior Bri, whose strength on the ball allowed her to hold off a solid defensive challenge and to create enough space to take a shot and beat the goalie. In goal, Meaghen recorded 8 saves, including a sprawling save late in the contest to preserve the tie.

- 2-1
Emma Willard traveled to Waterford to finish off the first half of the CHVL season. After a pretty evenly matched opening 25 minutes, Waterford got on the scoreboard first, taking advantage of some confusion in the back to slot home the go-ahead goal. The Jesters responded to the goal with great poise, returning to their strong passing game, maintaining an advantage in time of possession, and putting increasing pressure on the Fordian defense and goal. The Jesters broke through the Waterford defense to tie the game in the 33rd minute, when Bri won the ball from the charging Waterford goalie and played to ball into space in front of the open goal. Nicki, in the role of Johnny on the Spot, slammed the ball into the back of the net, tying the game. Five minutes later, Nicki helped set up senior captain Natalie for a second, and ultimately, game winning score. That second goal started out on the right wing, where freshman midfielder Elizabeth, made a strong run up the sideline, beating a couple of Waterford players, before cutting back and slotting a pass across the top of the 18 yard box to Nicki. When the defense closed down Nicki's option, not allowing her to spin towards goal, she turned back toward the middle of the field and play a beautiful pass back to Natalie who was stepping up from a supproting position in the central midfield. Natalie struck the pass one time from about 23 yards and hit a beautiful arching shot up and over the Waterford keeper and into the back of the net. The team played a strong second half against a persistent and aggressive Waterford side and walked away with the 2-1 win and a perfect 7-0 record during the first half of the CHVL season.
