Varsity tennis hit the road for its season opener against Amsterdam. By the end of the evening, the Jesters had won all nine of the matches played. New players, Sierra ’15 and Rebecca ’13 made their varsity debut.
The volleyball team started their season off just right with a win over Albany Leadership Academy. Ting-Ting ’13 led the team with 11 aces, and just behind her was Samantha ’13 with 10 aces. Shannon ’16 had a field day out of the middle, leading in both kills and blocks. Amelia ’16 was clutch at the end of the fifth set focusing on her serve when it counted most.
The varsity field hockey team also took to the field for a tournament at Hoosick Falls. The team won against Salem 3-0, getting their season off to a powerful start. Francesca ’13 scored two goals in the first half with assists from Harley ’15 and Nana ’13 and with another goal second half unassisted. The Jesters held Salem to only five shots on goal. Zoe ’14 in goal had all five saves.
Both the junior varsity and varsity soccer team attended a tournament at Troy High School over the weekend. The Jesters could not surmount Albany or Troy this time around, but played exceptionally hard at their first tournament of the season.
The cross country team attended an invitational at Niskayuna. Courtney ’15 came in 13th and Bridget ’13 in 37th out for 110 runners the girl’s 2500-meter run. In the girl’s 3x2500-meter relay the team of Jillian’12, Sasha ’15, and Courtney came in 10th out of 36 teams. All runners put in a strong first meet.
