Head of School Trudy Hall brought a group of Emma girls to attend the annual Women Who Mean Business event on October 5, 2012, held by The Business Review. The event, which Emma Willard School proudly sponsors, recognized several women business leaders from the area for their hard work, innovation, and leadership in the workplace. This year’s winners included Heather Briccetti, president and CEO of the Business Council of New York State; Kathleen Brodbeck, vice president and chief nursing officer of St. Peter’s Health Partners; Tenée Casaccio, president of JMZ Architects and Planners P.C.; Barbara Hess, chief administrative officer at SEFCU; Annmarie Lanesey, president of Greane Tree Technology; and Trish Rost, president of Madison Handbags.
Hall led the women being recognized this year in a panel discussion that ranged from their surprising hobbies (dog sled racing in one case) to their hopes for women in the workplace decades from now. The Emma girls were front and center for the event, even jumping on stage to ask the panelist their own questions about the unique challenges faced by women in leadership.
