By Jon Calos, Instructor of Science On Tuesday, October 23, 2012, Emma Willard School's Biology and Environmental Science classes traveled to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY for a fun field trip. The girls toured the museum, learning about the ecology of the Adirondacks and how climate change is affecting the northern region. They also participated in a guided nature
walk to the Raquette River, toured the environmentally sustainable building on site, and radio tracked a stuffed spruce grouse through the nearby Adirondack forest. The weather was wonderful and our students learned a great deal about local environmental issues.
