Theresa Beeman graduated from St. Michael’s College with a B.A. in chemistry and received an M.S. in chemistry from Cornell University. She has taught Advanced Placement chemistry, organic chemistry, and first-year chemistry at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School, Princeton Day School, and Brooks School.

Robert F. Buckley received a B.A. in physics and mathematics and his M.S. in physics. He taught high school math, physics, and computer science and coached cross country running for many years before becoming a mathematics/science instructor at RPI and chair of the chemistry and physics departments and assistant professor of physics at Hudson Valley Community College.

Jon Calos has taught science at Emma Willard since 1998. He holds a B.S. from the University of Vermont and an M.S. from Illinois State University. Mr. Calos advises the Outing Club and is excited about his dendrochronology project, in which he studies tree rings in the trees in Emma Willard's forests. He is an avid hiker, runner, rock climber, Frank Zappa fan, and arachnophile.

John Evans graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in political science and received an M.S. in astronomy from the University of Arizona and an M.A. in physics education from the University of Virginia. He joins the teaching faculty after a twenty-four year teaching career at Harwood Union High School in South Duxbury, Vermont, where he taught physics, earth science, physical science, astronomy, and mathematics.

Maureen Harrison joined Emma Willard in 1994 as a science teacher. She holds a B.A. in biology and history and an M.S. in curriculum design and instructional technology. In 2002, Ms. Harrison received the Levitt-Toohey Award for Faculty Excellence. A dorm affiliate and resident of The Bridges dormitory, she especially enjoys working with the senior proctors. Ms. Harrison is full of ideas for group training and leadership games and enjoys travel, geocaching, photography, and all things related to neuroscience.

Chris Kimberly began teaching at Emma Willard in 1997. He holds a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). In addition to serving on the Cum Laude committee, Mr. Kimberly coaches the tennis team and organizes the Sunday student-faculty ultimate games. When he's not in the chemistry lab, he can be found hiking on local trails, eating organic food, or chasing his three young boys around the campus.

Linda Maier has taught science at Emma Willard since 2001. She holds a B.A. from Susquehanna University, an M.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh, and an M.A.L.S. from Dartmouth College. A dorm affiliate and aerobics teacher, Ms. Maier is passionate about flowers and in the summer of 2005 made an expedition to Spain to research butterflies and orchids. Her other avocations include gardening, watercolor painting, knitting, and outdoor sports. Ms. Maier was chosen for the Toyota International Teaching Program and traveled to Japan for three weeks to meet with educators and students and to tour Japan to learn about their culture, industry, and environmental issues.

Meredith Moore received an undergraduate degree in psychology with a double minor in chemistry and education from Bryn Mawr College. She was a teaching assistant in the department of psychology at Bryn Mawr and did her student teaching in elementary and high schools in Philadelphia. Meredith was also an assistant camp manager and camp counselor at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland, and interned at the National Cancer Institute.

Kathleen Mroczka received a B.A. in physics and an M.S. in physics education from the State University of New York at Albany. Kathy did her student teaching at nearby Watervliet Junior/Senior High School and Bethlehem Central Middle School. A member of the Albany Area Amateur Astronomy Club, she has volunteered in the Brownie Troop “Space Explorer” program, and most recently, Kathy has been a science educator at the Schenectady Science Museum and Planetarium.
