What is the goal of the Davis Scholarship program?
The goal of the Davis Scholarship program is to further Emma Willard School’s efforts to provide an empowering education to talented and motivated girls from across the globe. The program seeks to attract potential future leaders from international and domestic settings.
Who is eligible for a Davis Scholarship?
International and domestic students applying for admission in the 10th and 11th grades or postgraduate years who demonstrate the need for financial assistance are eligible for Davis Scholarships. All Davis Scholars will be boarding students. Successful applicants will be excellent students in their current school settings, and international applicants will exhibit a strong command of English as well.
How do I apply for a Davis Scholarship?
All eligible applicants will automatically be considered once they have completed the Emma Willard application for admission and requisite financial aid forms. There are no additional forms required.
How does Emma Willard determine if my family qualifies for need-based financial assistance?
The Financial Aid Committee uses the Family Report, generated by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), as a guideline for making financial aid decisions. For more information about applying for financial aid at Emma Willard, click here.
When will I be notified if I’ve been named a Davis Scholar?
Davis Scholars will be informed of their selection along with their letter of acceptance on or around March 10.
What will I receive as a Davis Scholar?
Davis Scholars will receive a financial-need-based package that could include:
- Tuition, room, and board
- Travel reimbursement
- Health Insurance coverage
- Fee-waivers for books and technology
Upon graduation from Emma Willard, Davis Scholars will then be eligible to receive continued financial support for their undergraduate studies should they enroll at any one of the 89 American colleges and universities participating in the Davis United World College Scholarship Program which now supports more than 1,400 college students from 126 countries.
