A typical Emma Willard weekday includes morning reports, five or six classes, study time, one-on-ones with teachers, club meetings and an after-school activity like team practice, orchestra rehearsal or dance class.
Transportation
Transportation to Emma Willard is provided by many local school districts. Parents are also encouraged to explore car pool possibilities. Day students who drive to school must register their cars with security and park only in designated student parking areas. Students may not use their cars to go off campus for lunch or errands during the day (except for seniors, once senior privileges are in effect and with permission of Student Services).
Time on Campus
All boarders and day students have to sign in every morning.
Day students remaining on campus after 6 p.m. are expected to sign in at dinner with the houseparent on duty.
Any day student who is on campus at the beginning of study hall (7:30 p.m.) is expected to be observing study conditions and is permitted to be in proctored study hall, the library, the student center or Sage study.
When day students leave campus after 6 p.m. on a school night, they will sign out in the security office.
