Mensing & McQueen

argo Mensing and John McQueen, two artists working in different mediums, will show their works in an exhibit at Dietel Gallery at Emma Willard School on display February 1 through March 5. Though Mensing and McQueen often collaborate on projects, they will be showing individual works at the gallery.
Margo Mensing, associate professor of art at Skidmore College, teaches courses in fiber arts and liberal studies and coordinates the art department’s visiting artist lecture series. She holds a graduate certificate in art history/theory/criticism and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Fiber artist John McQueen, renown in the American craft world, has made a critical contribution to contemporary art. His work in Dietel Gallery will be sculptural constructions made of willow branches and string. McQueen holds an MFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.
The Dietel Gallery is located on the campus of Emma Willard School, 285 Pawling Ave., Troy. The gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery is closed for school holidays and summer vacation.
