Team Emma Races for a Cure

October 3, 2008

group of Emma Willard School students, alumnae, faculty, administrators, and parents, as well as runners from through the Capital District, will gather at Wellington-Lay on the EWS campus, at 9:30 a.m. on November 2, for Chasing the Cure for Multiple Sclerosis. The 5k race will traverse the beautiful Emma Willard School campus and venture into the surrounding neighborhood, returning to campus for the finish.

This race is being coordinated by one of the school’s community service groups, Race for a Cause, which sponsors and supports races, games, and other activities to raise funds for local and national charities. Proceeds from the November 2 race will benefit the Upstate New York Chapter of the National MS Society.

There will be six age categories, starting at 13 years and ending at 60-plus. The first male and female runners in each category will win a prize, to be given out at the after party starting at 10:30 a.m. Preregistration fee is $20, due by October 27. The entry fee on race day is $25. The first 100 entrants will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt. Register at www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1637649.
