Now that our adaptive reuse construction project is complete and all the newly renovated spaces are fully operational, you might think this will be a quiet, ordinary school year at Emma.

Think again.

On September 27, we will host our second annual symposium in the series—Women, Power, and Possibility. We’ll discover how young women use the power of their intellect and the energy of their passion to make positive change in today’s world. And we’ll explore how to equip Emma Willard students to join our alumnae and many other dedicated women in this vital effort. The seven panelists are young women who are already making their mark on the world. They will discuss the issues and the many possibilities that emerge when women translate their beliefs into action with commitment and conviction. Learn more here.

We’ve also launched three new blogs to open lines of communication among the entire Emma community. Head of School Trudy Hall’s message in the summer EMMA explained the inspiration behind her Emma Everywhere blog that addresses how Emma can provide a global education. The Emma Now news page now offers additional coverage, more frequent videos, and the opportunity to comment on what’s going on at school on any given day, and Associate Head of School Trudy Hanmer offers Weird on the Heights of Ida with tidbits of information from her research of the school’s history. These blog entries and more will be compiled into a complete history of the school, due to be published in the next year or so.

Add to that the usual campus happenings—Parent Days, admissions open houses, Revels, Fab Feb, Ring Week, spring break, and May Day—and you have a school year that promises to be full and exciting. Check out the school calendar pages for updates throughout the year. And don’t forget that important forms, billing statements, your daughter’s schedule, and grades and comments are available online through the parent portal. Already forgotten your login and password?
