The Emma community has access to excellent facilities on and off campus for recreation, fitness, and team training.

Jester Fitness Center
The fitness center offers a weight room with a comprehensive range of cardio equipment, fitness equipment, free weights, and open space for a great workout for students and faculty. Flexible hours provide students and faculty with many different opportunities to fit in a workout in their busy schedules.
Fitness studio
Next to the fitness center there is a multi-purpose floor with a surround sound system that is a perfect place for our teams to train or for our afterschool Zumba classes.
Helen S. Cheel Aquatic Center
Cheel Aquatic Center is one of the finest swimming and diving facilities in the capital region with a six-lane competition pool and a one-meter diving board. Home to the Emma Willard varsity swimming and diving team, Cheel Aquatic center is also open to the local community to rent, is a lifeguard-training site for Emma students and faculty, and is open to students and employees during recreational swim hours.
Athletic Fields
The outdoor sports facilities include grass fields for soccer, lacrosse and field hockey, a softball field, and recreational fields for PE classes.
Robison Track
The state-of-the-art 6 lane track is the perfect place to host home meets. The track and field venue also includes separate runways for jumping and space for discuss and shot put events.
Outdoor Tennis Courts
Home to our varsity tennis team, the 8 courts provide a great place for our tennis team to train and compete. The courts are also available for students and faculty to use for recreational use and the public is able to rent court time at certain times of the year.
Emma Willard Boathouse
Emma Willard¹s private boathouse was constructed in the fall and winter of 2006 and first used during the 2007 spring season. The boathouse is located at the far north end of Green Island, approximately 5 miles from campus. We house (3) Eights, (1) Four/Quad, (2) Doubles, in addition to racing and recreational singles. We have a state of the art docking facility and have the ability to row on both the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers, virtually guaranteeing suitable conditions for practices and miles of unobstructed open water. Our 1500-meter racecourse is straight, deep, wide, and very spectator friendly as the finish line is located at the 112th Street Bridge in North Troy.
Multi Purpose Trails
The wooded trails on campus are a perfect fit for our cross-country team to train or for the Emma community to use throughout the year. The natural escape is a great place to take a break from busy campus life and go for a walk or run and in the winter cross-country skiing and snowshoeing fill the trails.
