Individualized Study
We let you create the “you” you want to be. No other girls' school in the country lets you choose your path quite the way we do at Emma.

You can blend your love of science and math with an internship with world-class scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, one of the nation’s leading technological universities; take your violin/viola/cello talent soaring by playing with the Empire State Youth Orchestra; experience study in another country; or match your interest in community service by interning with a U.S. senator who happens to be an Emma grad.
Guided by mentors, faculty advisers, coaches, other girls, alumnae and others, you’ll dig in, explore your strengths and weaknesses and stretch the boundaries of what you think you can do and who you think you are.
Watch the Student Achievement Assembly of 2012, in which students involved in practicum or internships during the course of the school year shared their experiences with their peers.
