Summer Programs
During the summer of 2012, Emma Willard is proud to offer a variety of options for girls of all ages. Using the grounds and facilities of this historic campus, girls can explore and challenge themselves, all within the safety and comfort of a single-sex environment.
EmmaSummer Academic Enrichment
(July 23-August 3, 2012)
Cost: $650
EmmaSummer Academic Enrichment is the perfect opportunity for girls entering grades 9-12 to engage with faculty in a focused academic pursuit. Classes in math, writing, history, and science will be offered in a relaxed setting, enabling each girl to both dig deeper into a subject she is passionate about and challenge herself to gain greater understanding in a particular field. A minimum of ten students per class will be required.
International Language program (July 22 – August 17, 2012)
Cost: $6100 (boarding students)/$4000 (day students)
Intended for international students who wish to improve their English skills, Emma Willard offers a four week intensive English instruction boarding camp for up to 24 girls from all over the world. The camp seeks to combine Emma Willard’s reputation for focused study with fun and exciting weekend and evening activities designed to provide the girls with a sense of American culture.
girlsummer (July 2-13, 2012 and July 16-27, 2012)
Cost: $540 per session
GirlSummer is a summer day camp first developed by faculty members of Emma Willard School and offers girls ages 6 to 14 an athletic experience comparable to sports camps combined with extensive offerings in art, dance, drama and writing.
rosie’s girls (June 25-July 13, 2012)
Cost: $750
Emma Willard School is the first school in New York State to offer the Rosie’s Girls summer program. Rosie’s Girls, a summer day camp offers rising 7th- to 9th-grade girls instruction in carpentry, automotive repair, masonry and other non-traditional trades. Combining hands-on instruction in skilled trades with lots of art activities and games, the program supports girls in finding their own strength, power and confidence in a fun, positive atmosphere.
