The Emma Willard School Summer English Immersion Program is for girls ages 13 through 17 seeking an American experience this summer to improve their English skills. The intensive four-week program brings together girls from all over the world for a summer filled with learning and fun.
The program combines Emma Willard School’s focused, individualized study in the classroom with activities beyond the walls of the school. Students are taught by professional language instructors and classwork is designed around the academic needs of each girl. In the summer, the campus is filled with girls from around the world as well as across the United States, taking part in other summer learning experiences at Emma. This means girls in the English Immersion Program are able to live, interact, and take field trips with American girls, too. By combining our summer programs in this way, our international girls have more opportunities to practice and improve their English speaking skills, and gain a greater sense of American life and culture. Throughout their stay, the all-girls’ environment at Emma Willard School creates a safe and comfortable place to explore American culture.
