occurs in mid-September, when the Activities Fair is held.
Agonies is a group of senior performers whose humor and stage presence far outweigh their musicality. Members are selected through auditions held during the first few weeks in September.
Anime Club is the club for students interested in anime, a form of animation that originated in Japan. The club meets weekly and watches different genres of anime.
Black and Hispanic Awareness (BHA) consists of students who meet to increase awareness of Black and Hispanic cultures. This group annually sponsors a multi-cultural day.
The Clock, Emma Willard’s student newspaper, is published six times a year.
Emma Green is comprised of students who are concerned about the environment and who strive to educate the community about recycling and environmental issues.
Foreign and American Student Organization (FASO) is comprised of international and American students who wish to enhance cross-cultural awareness at Emma Willard. FASO sponsors an annual international dinner and other events.
Gargoyle is Emma Willard’s yearbook.
Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is an educational group that seeks to increase awareness and acceptance of differences in sexual orientation by developing an approachable and informative program of activities open to all students and faculty.
Interact is a student-initiated group that creates opportunities for students to participate in community service projects such as volunteering with children, the elderly or disabled, or a political group.
Junior Singing Group (JSG) is an a cappella singing group whose heads are chosen by election from the junior class and whose members are chosen by audition early in the school year.
Mock Trial gives students an opportunity to develop their public speaking skills and learn about the law. The team presents their cases in front of actual judges in real courtrooms as part of the New York State Bar Association’s mock trial competition.
Outing Club encourages students to get outside and enjoy our neighboring Adirondacks and the great outdoors. Map and compass work areintegrated into meetings in preparation for a wide variety of hikes (including an overnight hike in the High Peaks).
Quiz Team is a group that competes in an academic question-and-answer game format against other schools around the Capital District.
School Council is committed to strengthening communication and to developing personal responsibility in each student.
Student Organization for Animal Rights (SOAR) volunteers regularly at a local animal shelter and raises funds throughout the year for the animals’ care and feeding.
Triangle, Emma Willard’s art and literary magazine, is produced at least twice a year.
Twelve Tones is an a cappella senior singing group. Members are selected through auditions held during the first few weeks in September.
