Dorm Life
n
the time-honored tradition of English boarding schools, Emma Willard’s
dormitories are all connected to each other—in fact, most of the campus
is linked by a series of underground passages. Day students are strongly
encouraged to share in dorm life and are officially affiliated with a hall
of 10 to 25 girls whose rooms range from singles to doubles and suites. Each
hall has its own
gathering
space, or alcove, with kitchenettes and comfortable furniture
to keep snackers coming and the conversation going.
Whether you live on Sage Zoo, Kellas Long, Hyphen 2, or another hall,
there’s always someone to talk to or a quiet space to decompress
from the day. Senior proctors, peer educators, and houseparents are all
on hand to discuss the little and big things that make life interesting.
Many faculty members act as dorm affiliates, stopping by at least one evening
each week to offer academic support or advice. Dogs, cats, and toddlers
help the residence halls feel even more like
home.
