school
with a history as long as ours has many traditions that tie one
generation to the next. The crown jewel of our year is December’s
performance of Revels.
Since 1915, this senior class production of Yuletide celebration and
medieval pageantry has united and energized the campus. It’s all
about carefully kept secrets about who has what role, colorful costumes,
and a memorable night of cheers and merry-making. Special to Emma Willard
School, Revels is often likened to a big homecoming celebration … only
better.
From convocation through commencement, our calendar is packed with meaningful occasions. Freshman orientation is held at Camp Becket during the first two weeks of school, so you can get to know your classmates and learn about what lies ahead. There’s May Day to welcome spring, Ring Dinner to distribute cherished school keepsakes, class pranks, athletic desserts to honor the accomplishments of Emma Willard athletes, and the much anticipated Flame Ceremony celebrating next year’s student leaders. Seniors are showered with special dinners, awards, and attention all year leading up to graduation.
