Curriculum Innovation Projects

What could teachers do with a little extra time? The answer, in the case of Emma Willard School, is innovate!

Curriculum Innovation Projects (CIPs) allow faculty course releases to free up time to pursue projects that build on Emma Willard School's historical strengths in providing creative and inspiring classroom experiences. CIPs were born out of inspiring strategic planning conversations and are supported by the Hunter Endowed Fund for the Curriculum Innovation Project. The innovations pursued through CIPs continue to expose students to a curriculum that cultivates intellectual curiosity, helping them understand the complexities of diverse viewpoints to serve and shape their worlds.

A few of the classes devised through CIPs include Global Queer Studies,
Indigenous History of North America, Banned Books, French Identities,  and International Human Rights, in addition to reimagined connections beyond the science lab, process writing across the English curriculum, revised geometry curriculum, and more! Read about some of these below.
