Q: I am a US citizen living abroad, am I an international student?

No. US citizens are considered domestic applicants.
Q: I am not a US citizen, but I study at an American School. Am I considered an international student?

Yes. For application purposes, any applicant requiring a student visa to study in the United States is considered an international applicant.
Q: When is the International application deadline?

January 15
Q: Are international students eligible to receive Financial Aid?

Yes. We require all international students seeking financial aid to complete the international student financial aid profile form and submit it with the PFS.
Q: Does Emma Willard provide additional support for English language learners?

The admissions and academic offices review incoming international student applications to determine the appropriate English class for each student. Our English courses are designed to both challenge and support students of varied abilities and experiences, including English as Second Language Learners. We provide our English Language Lab instruction for students who require additional support in English language learning.
Q: I am attending an international school where English is the primary language of instruction. Do I still have to take the TOEFL or Duolingo exam?

Yes. All students for whom English is not their first language must take the TOEFL or Duolingo exam regardless of how long they have been studying or the level of proficiency they have reached. The exception is international students who have been studying in the United States for at least one academic year.

Q: I am a Chinese national studying in the U.S. Should I plan to interview with Vericant?

If you have been studying in the U.S. for 1 year or more, you do not need to complete a Vericant interview.
Q: What is the Vericant deadline for Emma Willard School?

December 1
Q: If I would like to visit campus, do I need to complete a Vericant or Duolingo interview first?

No. You are welcome to visit campus any time.
