Dance
In Emma Willard School's dance studio, students learn and rehearse in a variety of dance styles and perform in assemblies, the annual spring concert, on tour and in other special performance events.
Dance Curriculum
Dance offerings include three levels of ballet and contemporary dance, multilevel jazz, core fundamentals, and an advanced level performing group. All levels have the opportunity to participate in master classes by professional guest artists, view live professional dance companies, and experience the accomplishment of performing. Advanced students can explore composition and choreography through independent study.
May is a celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in the United States. Last Friday at Emma Willard School, we gathered at an assembly presented by the Asian Student Union (ASU) and the South Asian Sub Division (SASD) to recognize AAPI culture in our country and institution.
Spring Showcase, a much-anticipated tradition on campus, highlights students’ hard work from the 2023–2024 school year in Signature capstone projects, Jestermester, and Emma Artists.

One of the most exciting events of the year at Emma Willard School is the Spring Showcase. In this moment, we celebrate the accomplishments of students who have been working all year on Signature capstone projects and Emma Artists performances.
Strong Dance Studio
Our main dance studio is aesthetically beautiful, with a vaulted ceiling, twelve-foot windows on three sides, a wooden “sprung” floor, and audio/visual equipment providing the opportunity for students to critique their work as well as view historical and contemporary performances. The contemporary classes enjoy a live accompanist for many of their classes.
