Health and Wellness
Individualized support and equal access to services are a central aim of wellness and resilience initiatives at Emma Willard School.
Emma Willard School’s health education curriculum is embedded throughout life at Emma through the use of open-ended questions, interactive activities, discussions and guest speakers. Students explore the importance of personal responsibility and are given tools to gauge their levels of wellbeing, to identify areas for growth, and to examine how their beliefs impact their personal decision-making in the READY program.
The Health Services staff is a dedicated team of nurses, physicians and counselors who are committed to ensuring the physical health and emotional wellness of all Emma Willard School constituencies, especially the students, through our counseling office, health center, and READY center.
“In an academically rigorous environment like Emma, it’s vital that our students are not just seen for their strengths but also recognized and supported in all the ways that make them individuals.”- Elizabeth Toohey Gardner '03, The Toohey Family Endowed Fund for Wellness Programs
