Indoor Track and Field
On Saturday, the Emma Willard School indoor track team competed in the Independent League Championship meet. With all events except the weight throw and pole vault contended, it is looking like Emma will be league champions again for the second straight season.
On the track, AK was awarded the meet MVP award for her wins in the 55, 300, and as a member of the 4x200 team. Also, Skylar placed first in both the 1500 and the 1000. Other notable performances on the track were Lauren's third place finish in the 300, and Kat's fifth place finish in the 600.

The team had another great race night at the Queensbury Invitational. Emma came in 2nd overall, losing to Queensbury by only one point! We actually tied Shen, but thanks to Alex who had a fantastic run and was fourth for our team, we came out with her breaking the tie!
Four intrepid members of Emma Crew braved the wrath of a New England Nor’easter traveling to Boston to compete in the World Indoor Rowing Championships (CRASH-B’s) Sunday, February 12.
In a huge field of rowers from across the globe, the Jesters more than held their own over the grueling 2000-meter distance rowed on Concept2 ergometers.
Taking team honors was Molly D. who placed 16th in a field of 106 rowers in the Lightweight Junior Women’s division. Molly rowed in a time of 7:52.8, just missing her PR by less than a second.
Rounding out the field for Emma was Charlotte K., Grace M., and Kristen P. who all competed in the Junior Women’s Open Weight division. The girls were tantalizingly close to rowing their best times.
