Members of the Varsity Volleyball team Nadia M. '25, Amy H. '27, Sophia H. '27, Lahari L. '24, and Levi L-A. '25 accompanied Coaches Sydney Doornbos and Casey Summers to watch a D2 volleyball match at UAlbany recently and used it as a chance to think about how our team could improve. Those D2 players hit hard (huge muscles!) and now our athletes are researching what type of strength training they could do to improve their playing. The boarders got Popeyes (which they’ve been dreaming about for weeks!), so it was a great night!
Head of School Jenny Rao joined the Class of 2024 to enjoy the sunrise over the back 40 last Saturday. She shares, "Ivan and I loved our morning with the seniors and they really appreciated the munchkins!"
Teams tested their knowledge of movies, music, geography, science, and TV last weekend during Trivia Night, hosted by the Houseparents! It was a close competition; the first and second place teams ended within 2 points of each other and it all came down to the bonus round, worth 9 points!
Last weekend, Mr. LaFave's advisory group traveled to Schroon Lake to visit the beloved Mr. Berry. They went tubing in the freezing weather, grilled burgers, made salad, and sang songs around a campfire (with smores). Mr. LaFave's daughter Elsa taught everyone about dinosaurs and befriended two very cute dogs and their owner on the beach. It was a great trip! Mr. LaFave's advisory is the winner of best advisory group ever in the history of Emma. (Editor's Note: This caption was written by a member of Mr. LaFave's advisory group; opinions are their own.)
