Yuma M. '21 Recognized in Congressional Art Competition
Emma Willard School sophomore Yuma M. has received an Honorable Mention in this year’s Congressional Art Competition for her piece, “Boston Museum in Boston, Ireland,” which will be displayed in the Albany District Office for the next year.
Each spring the Congressional Institute sponsors the Congressional Art Competition to recognize and encourage visual arts talents in high school students across the nation and in each congressional district. Since its beginning in 1982, more than 650,000 students have participated, submitting their works to their representatives for consideration by a panel of district artists.
Yuma and Visual Arts Instructor Caroline Valites recently met with Congressman Paul Tonko at a local awards ceremony celebrating her achievement.
Please join us in commending Yuma on this impressive recognition!
