We are pleased to announce that Luke Meyers has been chosen as Emma Willard School’s Chief Communications Officer. With experience spanning two decades in the field of communications and marketing, Mr. Meyers has most recently served as the Director of Marketing and Engagement at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. He will join the senior leadership team on December 15, 2021.
Mr. Meyers began his career in communications for the Visiting Nurse Service of Schenectady and Saratoga Counties, a non-profit home healthcare company. After nearly seven years leading market research and strategy for clients of the McMURRY/TMG agency (now Manifest), Mr. Meyers chose a career path in education with his role as Communications Director at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Adirondack. Since then, he has led Skidmore’s first-ever marketing unit and oversees strategic communications for admissions, alumni and donor relations, athletics, digital engagement and social media, email marketing, print and digital design, and virtual programming and production. While at Skidmore, Mr. Meyers worked on key diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, including the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey and as a member of the College’s Institutional Effectiveness Committee.
Mr. Meyers received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from SUNY Geneseo and is a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society.
“I am honored and humbled to join Emma Willard School in the effort to amplify its story and share its vision of empowering future leaders who will serve and shape their worlds,” Mr. Meyers said. “I am very excited to work with the Emma community in pursuing the new strategic vision for this historic institution.”
Mr. Meyers lives in the Town of Saratoga with his spouse Alyssa and their two daughters, Caroline and Alice, two dogs, two cats, and a large flock of pet chickens.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Meyers and his family to the Emma Willard community.
