In an exhilarating display of speed and determination, Anyla has had an incredible few weeks on the track, breaking records left and right! Read on below for more information on her impressive season.

At the Northshore Invitational held in New York City on December 23, Anyla shattered her own school record in the 300m with a time of 43.10, securing her place in the NY Section 2 State Qualifiers.

She also competed at the Boston Holiday Track and Field Challenge at the New Balance Indoor Track Arena on December 29, and set a new school record in the open 400 meters with a time of 1:01.60. This remarkable achievement broke the decade-old record held by Kristin Steede ’15, who set the previous benchmark in 2014.

Her impressive performance in Boston highlighted her talent and relentless dedication to her sport. Beyond her record-breaking 400m race, Anyla also sprinted her way to a personal best in the 55 meters. Clocking in at 7.73 seconds, she has now secured the sixth-fastest time in the school’s history for this event. This feat also qualifies her for the highly anticipated NY Section 2 State Qualifier, positioning her as a formidable contender in the races ahead.

At the Annual Ocean Breeze Freedom Games on January 4, Anyla stormed her way to a personal record and another school record in the 300m dash. Her time of 42.40 seconds lowered her previous school record again by nearly a second! She also ran the fastest 4 x 200 relay split in school history with a time of 26.32 seconds.

Congratulations to Anyla for all she has achieved thus far, and will continue to achieve as the rest of the season unfolds!
