Celebrating the Class of 2025

We are proud to introduce the remarkable Class of 2025! Throughout every challenge they faced, the newest graduates of Emma Willard School came out shining!

Meet the Class of 2025

A total of 92 seniors graduated from Emma Willard at this year’s Commencement. These students reflect our diverse and international campus community, with class members hailing from 13 US states and 17 different countries. Carly Hunter was the senior president this year and extols the virtues of her classmates:

“Members of the Class of 2025 shine as brightly as a million stars and as strongly as the sun—in fact, they summoned the sun after our rainy, cloudy, and windy Commencement,” jests Carly. “Until we meet again, I wish laughter, adventures, learning opportunities, and joy to each and every member of the Class of 2025!”

Anya Khorkova was the student council representative from the senior class this year and, from this position of leadership, recently shared her parting advice for other budding student leaders during Flame Ceremony.

“I’m very glad that Emma is breaking the stereotype about what a leader should look like, giving equal opportunity to both charismatic inspirational pep-talkers and quiet idealistic dreamers,” shared Anya. “Stay true to yourself, because you will always come back to what you love…there is no predetermined pathway to a good life, just like there’s not one recipe for being a perfect leader!”

Beyond Ye Grey Walls

Senior year at Emma Willard is filled with cherished traditions, memorable moments, and many big decisions—perhaps none so much as deciding the next steps after graduation! Thanks to the guidance and support of our Office of College Counseling, this year’s Emma graduates will be matriculating to 61 different colleges and universities across the country and around the globe. The list includes state system schools, Ivy League schools, the Historically Women’s Colleges of the “Seven Sister Schools,” Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), University of California system institutions, and members of the Colleges that Change Lives consortium.

“I am most proud of the Class of 2025 for engaging in the college application process thoughtfully and authentically,” shares Dr. Ashley Bennett, director of college counseling. “They were incredibly open to exploring college options that met their needs, and they truly lived out the values expressed by our academic pillars.

“On a personal note, I've never experienced Emma without the Class of 2025. We started at Emma together in 2021, and I have learned so much from them. Here's to the Class of 2025!”

Senior Send Off

While the forecast on graduation day was mixed, the sunny and resilient disposition of this senior class is a characteristic that many have noted throughout their time on Mount Ida. Senior Class Dean Abbey Massoud-Tastor has worked closely with the group this year, ushering them through the key moments of their last year at Emma Willard. She had this to say of the incredible Class of 2025: “This group of graduates defines authentic and true friendship to me. They were always supportive ad caring to one another, cheering for each other's successes and raising each other up in moments of challenge. Never before have I had such a bonded senior class!”

We congratulate you, seniors, and welcome you to the ranks of Emma Willard alumnae!
