It’s an exciting time for students who are expanding their educational journey and looking at the possibilities available to them by attending an independent school. If you’re still considering applying to Emma Willard School for the 2024–2025 school year, it is not too late for domestic applicants! Here’s what you need to do by February 1.
- Application: If you haven’t begun the process, click here to go directly to the Emma Willard School application and get started. There is no fee for the Emma Willard School application. (Note that you can also apply through SAO, Gateway, and TABS, but there is an application fee for those platforms).
-
Essays: Part of the application will include essays and a parent statement. This is your chance to tell us a bit more about you and showcase some of your talents and interests.
-
Virtual Interview: If you haven’t already, you should schedule your virtual interview as soon as possible. You can email admissions@emmawillard.org to inquire about scheduling your interview.
-
Transcripts: Once you get into the application portal, you will be able to request transcripts from your school. We would like to see your grades from last year and the first semester of this academic year. If you are applying for 10th or 11th grade, we would like to see two years prior as well.
-
Recommendations: We ask for a recommendation from your current English teacher, math teacher, and your principal/guidance counselor/advisor. You can send the recommendation forms directly to your teachers in the application portal.
-
Standardized Test -OR- Graded Writing Sample: We do not require the SSAT test for admissions. If you took the SSAT or PSAT and are proud of the results, you can submit them as part of your application. Or, instead of a standardized test, you can submit a graded writing sample from your current or previous English or History class.
-
Financial Aid: Last year, we offered more than $5.9 million in need-based financial aid to our students. To apply for financial assistance, simply complete the Clarity Application by February 1.
