gold 4+ crew winners

The Emma Willard Junior 4+ brought home gold this weekend after winning the Scholastic State Championship and our Freshman 8+ brought home silver medals from the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship which was held from May 10–May 11. Photographed above are the Junior 4+ gold medal winners.

The Junior 4+ included Sophia H. ’26, Ava V. ’26, Isla B. ’26, Katie H. ’26, and Jane K. ’26, and the Freshman 8+ included Ella G. ’28, Juniper F. ’28, Lauren F. ’28, Tessa H. ’28, Fiona C. ’28, Lily B. ’28, Ruya D. ’28, Phoebe Z. ’28, and Aida G. ’28. It was a 1500m sprint race on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, New York hosted by the Saratoga Rowing Association. This win earned both boats invitations to the SRAA Scholastic National Championship Regatta from May 23–May 24.  The national championship is a sprint race on Cooper River in Pennsauken, New Jersey hosted by the Scholastic Rowing Association of America. This is a USRowing Sanctioned Regatta open only to high school rowing programs; composite boats of students from multiple high schools are not invited. Some may remember that many of these juniors (Isla B. ’26, Katie H. ’26, Jane K. ’26) were part of the Freshman 8+ that also won the State Championship in 2023. This weekend, the crew team heads to Philadelphia to the oldest high school regatta in the country, the Stotesbury Cup.
