Emma Willard School is proud to announce two semifinalists for the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program: Sophia H. ’27 and Edith G. ’27. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition among high school students for recognition and college scholarships that began in 1955. This program honors and shines a spotlight on academically talented students who promote a wider and deeper respect for learning. Less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors advance from the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) to Semifinalists. Congratulations to Sophia and Edith for this impressive accomplishment!
