math competition

The Albany Area Math Circle placed first in the B-division at the New York State Mathematics League competition on Saturday, April 5. Close to 500 of the strongest high school math students from all over the state were in attendance which made for a very collaborative, and fun environment.

The team was 80% female, ⅔ of which were students from Emma Willard School. Everyone contributed both individually and to the proof/theory-based team rounds. Albany Area Math Circle Advisor Alexandra Schmidt shares her pride and enjoyed the excited conversations on the trainride home.
