Spring Showcase, a much-anticipated tradition on campus, highlights students’ hard work from the 2023–2024 school year in Signature capstone projects, Jestermester, and Emma Artists.
The Signature Capstone experience is offered to juniors and seniors who want to deepen their knowledge in an area of their choosing. Working alongside an on-campus manager, and off-campus experts in some cases, students devote the year to research and experimentation, which culminates in a presentation at Spring Showcase to the entire school community. Oftentimes, students present their original goal or hypothesis, how the project evolved throughout the year, any conclusions, and what they learned throughout the process. The Emma Artists program is for talented students in music, dance, and visual arts* who wish to advance their studies. This year, three separate concerts were filled with dancers, choreographers, violinists, flutists, sopranos, pianists, and many more exceptional artists. Each student shared their background and inspiration for their pieces in their artist statement, which can be found here. The inaugural Jestermester over Spring Break was filled with excitement, ingenuity, and a curiosity for learning. During Spring Showcase, students and corresponding faculty were able to present their experiences to a wide array of interested folks. The excitement was contagious as students shared detailed explanations, photos, trials, and triumphs of their courses. Congratulations to all students who presented or performed at this year’s Spring Showcase—your work is an inspiration to the whole campus community!
*The Emma Artist visual art reception will be on Thursday, May 23, at 12:00 p.m.
