Sprinters Headed to States

Anyla-Zanii L. ’25 and Simi A-H. ’26 impressed at the Eddy Track and Field Meet held this past Saturday at Schenectady High School. Anyla delivered a stunning performance in the 400m dash, shattering Emma Willard's school record with a personal best time of 58.81 seconds with a 5th place overall finish. Simi competed and qualified for both the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.48, and the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:13.40. Both athletes are headed to the New York State Outdoor Track and Field Qualifiers. Congratulations!

Coach Holston shares that for Anyla, this marks the fifth school record she has broken during her illustrious indoor and outdoor track career, placing her just two records short of Courtney Breiner ’15. Under the guidance of first-year Assistant Track and Field Sprinting Coach David Atkins, Anyla's remarkable progress this season has qualified her for states in multiple events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, and the 4x400 relay. As she races towards the end of her high school track career, Anyla's goal remains fixed on making waves at the state meet in her final season.
