Students Explore Careers in Manufacturing at RPI's National Manufacturing Day

Emma students recently attended National Manufacturing Day at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), accompanied by Director of Operational Technology Jude Curry. The event brought together students, educators, industry leaders, and manufacturing professionals to showcase the exciting opportunities available in modern manufacturing. The students who attended were Emma C. ’27, Miki L. ’30, Elaine L. ’30, Giselle L. ’30, Mindy M. ’28, Sophia S. ’30, and Rose Q. ’29.

One of the highlights of the day was an up-close experience with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter, which landed on campus as part of the event activities. Students had the unique opportunity to get in the aircraft, learn about its technology, and even speak directly with one of the pilots about aviation, engineering, and career pathways.

The group also attended presentations from manufacturing leaders, heard from RPI engineering students, and participated in lab tours and the Student Manufacturing Exhibit Fair. These hands-on experiences gave students valuable insight into advanced manufacturing, engineering, and emerging technologies.

The trip provided an engaging look at the many career opportunities available in manufacturing and technology while inspiring students to explore future pathways in STEM fields.
