The track and field team has made our community proud at multiple invitationals and events across the Northeast! Read on below for more details about their accomplishments.

The team achieved remarkable success at the Northshore Invitational held at the NYC Armory, setting a school record and delivering several top-ten all-time performances. The 4 x 200 relay team, consisting of London G. ’28, Simi A-H. ’26, Zoe A-H. ’26, and Anyla L. ’25, ran the second fastest indoor track time in school history at 1:52.61, also qualifying for state participation. In the field events, Liji H. ’27 achieved a personal best in the triple jump at 31’ 10”, placing 5th on the school's all-time list and qualifying for state qualifiers. On the track, Simi A-H. ’26 recorded a personal best of 10.56 in the 55m hurdles, ranking 5th in school history. In the long jump, Zoe A-H. ’26, who set the indoor track 800m record last week, achieved a personal record of 13’ 11.75”, ranking 9th, while Liji H. ’27 recorded a jump of 14’ 3.5”, ranking 7th on the school's all-time list. 

The team then headed to the Ocean Breeze Indoor Track complex in Staten Island, NY to compete in the 10th Annual Ocean Breeze Freedom Games on January 4.

Emma Willard’s top Jumper, Liji H. ’27, leaped a personal record  33’ 2” in the triple jump. This was an astonishing 5 feet further than she jumped 2 weeks ago! This was Emma Willard’s 4th all-time triple jump in school history. Equally impressive was the consistency of her jumps which were measured at 32’, 33’ 2” and 32’ 4”.

Liji H. ’27 also leaped 14’ 8.25” in the long jump. This was Emma Willard’s 4th all-time long jump to complete an impressive day for the talented 10th grader. 

The 4 x 200m relay of London G. ’28, Simi A-H. ’26, Zoe A-H. ’26 and Anyla L. ’25 ran a spectacular time of 1:53.00.  This relay team is currently second all-time in school history and is just over a second from the school record.
