Nisha presents her Signature project

Spring Showcase, a much-anticipated tradition at Emma Willard School, was elevated to new heights this year with its inclusion in the Wallace Center Grand Opening.

Alumnae, students, faculty, families, and friends were invited to attend the combined event, which provided a forum to highlight student work from the 2024–2025 school year in Signature capstone projects and the Emma Artists program.

The Signature capstone experience is offered to juniors and seniors who want to deepen their knowledge in an area of their choosing. Students devote the year to research and experimentation with the cooperation and guidance of their Signature manager. The presentations at Spring Showcase provide these budding young scholars with the opportunity to share their original goal or hypothesis, how the project evolved throughout the year, any conclusions, and what they learned. The Emma Artists program is for talented students in music, dance, and visual arts* who wish to advance their studies. This year, the events included three recitals (two in the Wallace Center’s Klingenstein Concert Hall and one in Kiggins Auditorium), as well as a special film viewing in the Wallace Center’s new Bennack Theater. Dancers, choreographers, violinists, flutists, sopranos, pianists, and many more exceptional artists shared their background and inspiration for their pieces in their artist statement, which can be found here.
