  • Madame Willard’s Cartography Highlighted in Atlas Obscura

    Emma Willard School proudly boasts a founder who was not only a pioneer and advocate for girls’ education and author of many early textbooks, but who is also credited with being the first female cartographer in America. A recent article in Atlas Obscura describes Madame Emma Hart Willard’s map making accomplishments. 
  • "Maineland" Sheds Light on International Student Experiences

    Emma Willard School held its first Speaker Series event of the year on Monday, October 15, welcoming Miao Wang, the filmmaker behind the documentary Maineland.
  • Emma Alumnae Honored Locally

    Erin Pihlaja
    Two Capital Region Emma alumnae were recently honored for their exceptional leadership in business. Julie Massry Knox ’98 and Andrea Hanley ’95, were honorees at the Albany Times Union Women@Work event, and The Albany Business Review’s Women Who Mean Business Luncheon, respectively.
