Introduced as a new varsity sport in the 2010-2011 school year, indoor track and field quickly became a popular winter sport option. Indoor track helps student athletes prepare for the demands of outdoor track by incorporating a strength and conditioning program to build a base of fitness for the spring, while also giving students an opportunity to work on their individual and relay events. The indoor track and field season begins in November and ends with the state championship in March. There are additional invitational options for students who are interested in pursuing the sport at a higher level. Indoor training consists of a strength and conditioning program, and specific workouts for each discipline.
